Nice to Meet You!

Founder
Brittany Sudbrook, PT, MSPT
Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists
For over a decade, I thrived in Orthopedic Physical Therapy, confident in my expertise and ability to help patients heal. I thought I understood the body well… until 2019, when the birth of my daughter completely shifted my perspective and changed the trajectory of my career. After childbirth, I found myself struggling with pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, and diastasis recti. Here I was, a licensed physical therapist with years of experience, yet I was utterly unprepared to help myself navigate these challenges. The responses I received were dismissive: "Welcome to motherhood. Peeing on yourself is just part of the journey." That wasn't acceptable to me, and I knew it shouldn't be acceptable for anyone. This experience ignited a fierce determination to learn everything I could about the pelvic floor and comprehensive treatment approaches. What I discovered was eye-opening: pelvic floor dysfunction does not discriminate. It affects people across all ages, genders, and life stages, from athletes and desk workers to those dealing with chronic pain, bowel issues, sexual dysfunction, and yes, pregnancy and postpartum recovery. But it goes far beyond that chapter of life. Empower Pelvic Health was born from this realization, a practice that blends my orthopedic foundation with specialized pelvic floor expertise gained through exhaustive research and advanced education. I believe that knowledge is power, and that people experience immense freedom when they're supported and guided to truly understand their bodies. As Empower has grown and I've stepped back from direct patient care, my passion has evolved into something equally meaningful: mentoring and building up wonderful, talented pelvic floor specialists who share this mission of comprehensive, compassionate care for all.

While my recent "official" title at Empower Pelvic Health may suggest a newfound prominence, my contributions have long been rooted in a supporting role. When Brittany, my wife and the clinic's owner, approached me one spring afternoon in 2020, amidst the turmoil of a pandemic, with the idea of launching her own Pelvic Floor Therapy clinic, my reaction was uncharacteristic. Typically, skeptical and hesitant, I would try to convince her why NOW was not the right time. This time however, I sensed a profound shift. There was a palpable surge of passion and purpose driving her WHY! When our daughter was just one year old, Brittany confided in me about her personal battle with post-partum complications following her delivery. She spoke passionately about the urgent need for better care and resources for mothers navigating similar challenges. From this heartfelt conversation emerged Empower Pelvic Health, a testament to Brittany's resilience and vision, and my newfound favorite place of employment. I bring with me a rich background in physical therapy. As a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, I had the privilege of working closely with patients on their journey to recovery. Building meaningful relationships with patients and empowering them to conquer physical obstacles and regain independence was the highlight of my work.
Outside of the office, Michael's heart belongs to his cherished family. He revels in every moment spent with his loving wife, their precious daughter, Audrey, and their loyal furry companion, Oakley. Whether it's a leisurely walk in the park or a cozy movie night at home, family time is truly special to Michael. When it comes to leisure activities, Michael has a penchant for the adrenaline rush that accompanies watching scary movies. Being a Houston native, he is a passionate supporter of our city's sports teams. Whether it's cheering on the Rockets, Texans, or Astros, you can bet he'll be rooting for our hometown heroes whenever they hit the field or court.

Ashley Webb, PT, DPT
Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists
I have spent the past four years practicing as a physical therapist in an orthopedic outpatient setting. I also completed my fellowship in manual physical therapy in 2023. While completing fellowship mentoring hours, I was awakened to the world of pelvic floor therapy. I realized that while treating in a “normal” outpatient orthopedic setting, I was missing a piece of the puzzle: the pelvic floor! I also realized “pelvic floor problems” affected more than just postpartum women. Everyone has the potential to have pelvic floor issues including athletes of all ages. Whether you have had a baby or not, pelvic floor issues exist, and I want to encourage women to speak up about ANY symptoms they have and help women have a greater voice in their own personal healthcare journey. Treating the musculoskeletal system as a whole to help assist patients in returning to activities that make them happy is my passion. I believe physical activity is the key to longevity in life and an improved quality of life. By providing patients with tools and strategies to mitigate symptoms and problems along the way, I can help patients achieve their individual goals.
Ashley is a born and raised Texan. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from UT Tyler where she also played college softball. She then went on to obtain her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. Growing up, she enjoyed playing softball and barrel racing. In her spare time, she continues to enjoy riding her horse and working on her family’s land taking care of all of their horses, cows, and dogs. She also tap into her competitive side playing slow pitch softball on the weekends with friends. Her true passion in life is traveling to the mountains. She loves cold weather and absolutely loves any chance to hike or go whitewater rafting.

Tara Lynch, PT, DPT
After spending many years as a professional ballet/modern dancer, it wasn’t until I was exposed to pelvic health physical therapy that I could see myself in a new career. Growing up in the dance world, pelvic pain and dysfunction was not uncommon though rarely talked about among this population of athletes. Pelvic health physical therapy gave me the tools, language, and understanding of my own body to be able to return to dancing without compromising due to pain or fear of a career ending injury. This experience taught me that healing requires mental and emotional support, just as much as physical. As a provider, I am passionate about empowering patients to feel supported through their full healing journey, to help restore connection to their bodies, and to provide tools to inspire a commitment to lifelong health.
